Kaitlen Marie-Matilda Velasco

Kaitlen was born on 10/18/02 at 12:15pm at the same hospital as her daddy and brother Cody. She was 21.5 inches long and weighed 9#7oz.

The night of the 17th my FIL rubbed my belly and i told him maybe tonight Bill.( my FIL was dieing from tumors on his brain and i fully believe he was holding on for his grandbaby. He died two weeks later) We went home (across the street) and when we layed down to go to sleep i just couldn't get comfortable so i got up at midnight to go lay on the couch. By about 12:30 i realized my back pain was actually contractions and i thought, hey, i'll see how long i can lay here and handle it, lol. At 1am i woke Ben up. He took the boys over to my MIL's house and we headed to the hospital. Once they determined i was in labor. (my water broke all over my bed) they sent me to a room. :) At about 5am i was able to get my Epidural even though i was already 8cm's. I remember the anesthesiologist saying don't fall asleep while he was doing it. I kept thinking how the heck does he know I'm falling asleep, lol. I was probably leaning over. He kept talking about Ben's job and me not all there kept thinking how the heck does he know he works for LASD?/ Duh, im sure he thoroughly read my chart. He had to do my epi twice, but the second time was perfect! absolutely zero pain. By 10am i was fully dilated. yea!! Epi worked soooo good i couldn't push at all........ so wait 2 hours for epi to wear off...... at noon i start pushing and 12:15 she was out.

I can't sleep when i'm in the hospital so i dressed her up and took pics.

oh, who out there is wondering about the name Matilda?

My FIL would sing the Harry Belafonte song, Matilda to my belly when i was very pg with kaitlen (he also sang tiny bubbles :) ) So when she was born we added Matilda to her middle name. My MIL didn't believe we'd do it when we told her we were going to, but we showed her the hospital papers. MIL would call her Matilda, she's been gone for almost 3 yrs and no one really calls her that. At the Mexican restaurant we go to our waitress that we just love and she loves our kids can not say Kaitlen so we told her she can call her Matilda and she does. :)

We went to a Halloween party after Kaitlens b-day party. It has been a busy day. I'll update Kaitlens party later tonight.

I didn't realize her tutu was crooked, but her hair turned out awesome!!

Miss Abbie, I forgot to bring her wings but that was ok. The black makeup i got to put dots on her face wouldnt write so she went dotless.

baskets

The baskets are done. At the last minute Matthew decided he wanted a decorated basket. The only other boy fabric i had was camo and thankfully he was fine with that.
To save time i didn't make sure the fabric was smooth. The kids haven't said a thing about it. :)

Prayers for Kennedy

Sweet Presh Kennedy has the stomach flu and when she gets sick she gets it worse than you or I. Where we might drink pedialite she needs monitoring, fluids and possibly blood draws. (i'm not 100% on how invasive they get with her) at the hospital. Tomorrow is her Buddy walk for DS and I know Mom is bummed about being in the hospital and im sure Kenn is too. Keep her health in your prayers and super big hugs for Renee's mom for being home from Florida and being able to help out with the other kids. Renee's Hubby is over seas right now and won't be home until March.

Today after school Thomas was going to go hang with friends and then go to the HS homecoming game and dance. I needed to talk to him after school so i snagged the chance to take a pic of him and his GF. She is very nice and so funny!!!

A big day for Matthew Litchfield

"Stem cell infusion has just started. Please pray that they get into Matthew's system and do their job. Dr. Frangoul warned us again that the white blood cells will immediately go to any inflammation and/or infection in his body to start fighting. If it in his lungs, it could cause a major problem. Jeff is kind of freaking out over this, even though we've discussed it several times. He tends to forget things or maybe he just ignores things he doesn't really want to hear."

Abbies wings

I didn't want to wait until tomorrow to get the rest of the stuff for Abigails wings so i dug through my stuff and finished it up. The long ribbons will tie in the front to hold up her wings and they'll have little bows in the front were i tie them. She'll be the cutest little hot pink ladybug out there!!

Just a tip

Don't take a hot glass out of the dishwasher and fill it with cold water. :) Unless you really didn't want that glass anyway.

running out of time

The time for me to get the kids costumes and buckets done is by this Fri. After Kaitlen's b-day party we have a Halloween party to go too. Kaitlen still needs tights. Matthews is done, but his UFC gloves are drying. Code is done until the school Halloween party. I need makeup to do his face, i got him werewolf teeth. Abigail, I am halfway done with her wings. I happened to find Kaitlen's unitard that she wore 5 yrs ago as a cat for Halloween. So Abbie can wear that under her Ladybug costume. I've given Thomas all his H stuff so he can do whatever he wants with it. The buckets, I haven't bought any of the stuff to decorate them. Cody's is almost done but i had the fabric here. Kaitlen may end up with a girlie'd out bucket but it might not have any Cinderella on and thats ok. Matthew is just using a skeleton bucket, nothing special for him. Abbie, something pink and black.

So after K's party we run home i get them dressed, do kaitlens Cinderella hair, give matthew a mohawk and write kanji on his head. Oh my, kaitlen prob needs a little bit of princess makeup, huh? should I do anything to ladybug abbies face???

Lost and Found

I am such a dork. Last night it dawned on me i hadnt seen Spot in about an hour, but Patches was playing like a maniac. Spot will pick anywhere and just drop and take a nap. So we go looking for him and we are not finding him ANYWHERE. So i go outside, JIC. He's no where to be found outside, but I'm starting to freak a bit because what if he did get outside and he's had an hour to just wander away. It was cold out too. So i go back in and tell the kids we have got to look everywhere again and find him!!!!! I looked under toy tables, under beds, closets, bathroom, laundry room even heater vents and I'm on the verge of crying and Thomas shouts,"I FOUND SPOT"

He was on the couch, in the corner of the L shape. right on top, not hiding, not covered, just sleeping away. So Matthew someone put him on the couch and he fell asleep and that someone forgot he put Spot up there.

2 Moo's and an Oink

I'm not sure when this will happen, but we have talked about it for a couple years. Ben and one of the other officers were talking and Ben might get two cows and a pig. Something about 50$ for the pig and it sounded like the cows were free. Something about the guy keeping a cow on our property too. Now these will not be pets. (yes i would love a cow as a pet. Why do you think i go read Pioneer Woman??? To see her Cows!! i heart cows) LOL. They would eventually be slaughtered into some nice rib eyes and pork chops. I let you know more when it gets more planned out. Of course there has to be names. I know you are not suppose to name your food, but i have too. How about Comidas for one of them? or Dim Sum? Whats another word relating to food, meals, eating in another language??

They crack me up!

Every time i turn around they are doing something funny. Or just looking funny.

Patches ears stand up. Straight up!! Cody keeps asking me Why?? I have no idea, but i wish they'd go down because you can't help but laugh at the little fella.
Then here's Spot just sleeping away and Patches was chewing on his foot. LOL.

The pups have upgraded again. They eat dry kibble now and drink water. So they have their own food dish 24/7. I no longer have to give them there gruel mix at 2am. Yea!! I figured it out when i saw Spot eat a cheerio off the ground, lol. I think i was babying them to much. They also no longer have their little cave/den and no more heating pad. Just their bed, food and potty area. .......3 hots and a cot, lol.

Abbie and Spot. Ab or Matthew always has one of the pups. You have to be careful about were you step/sit because they are almost always tucked under a blanket sleeping.

They are still available if you want one or two. :) At the rate they are going now I'd say 2 more weeks, just need them bigger.
