My kids have school today

Does anyone elses kids have school???? Ben said when he took the kids to school people in town were putting up their confederate flags, I'm from Cali, I'm not use to that...... We don't get mail today.

I learned a little fact today that i didn't know before. Today is also Robert E Lee's birthday. So happy birthday MLK Jr and REL. My kids should have today off for TWO history icons bdays.

Easter Dresses

Im not going with the whole traditional Easter dress. I want to make it a dress they can wear anytime not something that screams Easter.Instead of doing the skirt part low on the dress like for Christmas I'm going to do it high, like under the breast line and it'll stop just above the knee. Stores are already switching over to Spring/Summer clothes so walmart didnt have any long sleeve shirts so we went to Oldnavy and they had some on clearance. I got abbies size but not kaitlens size. I got Kaitlen a 3T and I will have to add a little ruffle to the sleeve but thats ok. The shirts were originally 8.50 each and we got them for 2$ each. SWEET! It has always been very cold here on Easter so i dont expect this year to be any different.

Flan Cake

Lastnight my SIL made flan cake! and OMGosh it is the best cake ever! Her's looked like this but she added some whipped topping for decoration, yummos. My SIL also doesnt play by the rules so she may have added a little more of this or a little less or that, but i found the recipe online. I cant try it until i go buy a bundt cake pan, lol.

Chocolate Flan Cake

1 box chocolate cake mix — 18.25 oz
11 ounces caramel topping, softened or at room temp — (I use Smuckers brand)
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
12 ounces evaporated milk
1/2 cup milk
8 ounces cream cheese — softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
5 eggs

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Spray a 12-cup bundt pan with flour-added cooking spray. Pour caramel topping into pan.

Prepare cake mix according to package directions. Pour the cake batter into the cake pan over the caramel topping.

Make the flan. Pour condensed, evaporated and fresh milks into a blender. Add softened cream cheese, vanilla and eggs and blend or process until smooth. Pour the flan mixture very slowly over the cake batter.
Spray a sheet of aluminum foil with cooking spray and cover the pan TIGHTLY with the foil. Covering tightly is very important. Set the Bundt pan into a large pan and set on the oven rack and slide in.
Carefully pour hot water into the larger pan to a depth of 2 inches (The Bundt pan will be sitting in 2 inches of water).

After two hours, remove cake from water and allow to cool for 15 minutes. Peel off the aluminum foil. Invert cake onto a large plate with rim. The caramel topping should flow down the sides.
Cool completely then refrigerate.

11 years!!!

11 years ago today Ben and I got married. In Vegas :). We eloped. My family knew, his did not. That's how he wanted it. 11 years ago we sat and had a yummy breakfast with my Mom.
I don't have our wedding pics scanned so here are some pics from the early days. We only knew each other for 8 months before we got married so we pretty much looked the same, lol.

Today Ben got to see Kaitlen cheer and then right after that we went to Uncle Lani's and Auntie Anna's and had a super yummy Mexican dinner. She made Chili Rellenos, rice, beans, salsa, guacamole and we brought up some carne asada that Lani and Ben cooked up. We ate way to much food. Then to top it all off Anna made a flan cake!! the best flippin cake i have ever tasted.
We had a great day.

Dinner night

We will be heading to outback with the kiddos for a yummy dinner for our 11th wedding anniversary. Funny thing is for our 1st anniversary we went to Outback for the 1st time (in Vegas with Mom) I was pg with Cody and didn't know it yet. I know Ben is going to order the Prime Rib and I normally order the Alice Spring Chicken, but that was tough on my tummy before having my gallbladder out (very greasy) Im not sure i even dare try it without a gallbladder. I love their salads and every time I've seen someone order their burgers i think they look yummos. So i might go that route. What i really like about OB is they actually have good kids meal menus.

Our anniversary is actually tomorrow.

Christmas Pictures!!

Yes, i know we are in mid January. I'm just a tad behind. So i put them in a slideshow to save your finger from having to scroll, lol.

Oh, I did NOT mail out my Christmas cards. Im sorry. I had them printed and put in envelopes and that's as far as i got... Easter... I promise.

So for Christmas we somehow had Thomas convinced he was getting NOTHING. We had to do this cause its very hard to hide what he's getting from us. I couldn't even blog his gift because when he's bored he reads the blog. So Christmas Eve Eve he wants to help me wrap the gifts. (umm he wants to see what he got) Well all his stuff was still hidden except the laptop case, DUH. I totally played it off that it was a holder for Codys Bakugon cards. I text Ben to clue him in and then told Thomas to go ask his dad where the cards are so i can put them in the case, LOL. Ben plays it off that they are in his office we'll have to stop by tomorrow, Christmas Eve. Fast forward to Christmas eve and everything is set for santa and Thomas says DID YOU GET THE CARDS? Im like What cards?? (Hello Lisa!!) ....... Ben, Did you get the cards?!?!? LOL, Thomas totally bought the lie.
Ben had just got a new pair of Police boots so i used that box to put his laptop in and then Ben had him convinced he got a pair of boots for Christmas. So needless to say Thomas was very surprised on Christmas morning when he opened the box and got a Laptop or notebook, what ever they are called. I forget what else he got but it was little stuff. Oh, Why do i get him that AXE or BOD spray every year?? Talk about an instant sinus headache.

Abbie got dolls, dolls and more dolls. Cody got video game, video games and more video games. Kaitlen got make up, make up and more make up. Matthew, well he didn't have a 'theme' his stuff was all over the spectrum. Boots, razorback, dinosaur.....

Maybe, one day..

I got an email this afternoon and really like the entertainment center in it. I'd want Ben to make it but he really sucks with wood work. lol, don't worry he knows this. But i'd still want him to make it. Instead of drawers i'd just put baskets in there. Keep it simple you know.

I need to sew

I have this really bad urge to sew. I don't want to do that Pettiskirt yet. I don't need the stress of learning something new. I also don't have any girlie fabric...... I used it all. Ben has a couple days off maybe we'll hit Hobby Lobby???? I'll let ya'll know.........

Well, my neice Emily is beyond Princess parties and auntie hasn't got to make the cake for anyone yet. Kaitlen is smack in the middle of Princessness and Abbie has many years ahead of her

So i see lots of pink... and tulle... and crowns.... and jewelry.... So do i make dresses??? LOL
I have a lot of time to decide...........
