Now in the pic you can totally tell i got black fabric from 2 different lots!!! but it doesn't look that noticeable in real life, just on pictures, grrrr. Michael Speicher will be coming home!

They have finally found the remains of Capt. Michael Speicher. I've mentioned him before when Matt Maupin's remains were found. God Bless the families who are no doubt going through a lot of emotions.

Childhood Cancer Awareness Walk in NWA

Hi Everyone, I am sending out this email to everyone in my email address book. I know some of you are my Ebay transaction emails, but for anyone that does not want to revieve any further updates on the walk just let me know. Thank you.

 

I am organizing a walk for childhood cancer awareness. I have started a website called k9sloveforkids.com and it'll give you more information. It's a dog walk at Prairie Grove battle field and the more dogs the better. September is Childhood cancer awareness month and the ribbon is a gold ribbon. Not many people know this and I want the word about pediatric cancer to get out there. I have attached a flier about the event. I am hoping to add more sponsors soon. The walk is Sept 12th and I know it gives us little time, but I know it can be done.

Childhood cancer awareness walk

I am organizing a childhood cancer awareness walk in our area. It's called K9's love for kids because a child's and an animals love to each other are amazing. If you live in our area pack up your pooch and head on over to the walk on Sept 12th, 2009. The money raising part comes from a registration fee of 5$ for each dog (bring lots of dogs!!) Humans walk for free :) So far Arvest Bank is supplying 200 hot dogs and I am hoping to add several more sponsors to the bottom of the flier.
I have a website set up too. www.k9sloveforkids.com. You can register for the walk online or the morning of the walk at the park.

100% of all the money raised will go to juliansworld.org. I know you all know King Juju.

We got a free piano

It needs some TLC and it needs to be tuned, but it works fine. I am so addicted to the free section on craigslist (yes, i know CL is dangerous), it is crazy what people will give away. They had no room for it and were sick of looking at it in their garage. It is in our garage until we get it fixed up and find a better way to move it up the porch steps into the house. It weighs a ton.

This was in our car.

This is just a still pic from the internet. We had to go (needed to go) to both church services (kids had performances) so I got everyone ready and out the door with 15 minutes to get there. All the kids were in the car and i tossed my purse into the passenger seat and started the car. A ginormous spider crawled over my purse and down to the floor board.

AACK! I had ZERO time to get the thing out, so we drove to church with it in our car. Kaitlen cried the whole way and she never saw the spider. Poor thing. After the first service and when the kids went to Sunday school i went to the car with a couple from our church (Both Fay Officers) and the husband got it out of my car and I video taped it. i thought it was a juvenile tarantula but it ended up being a Dark Fishing Spider.
Don't worry, I'm reading your mind. How did it get into the car??? WELL, yesterday Ben took the Double Jogger out of the garage and put it in the car because we were going to the mall. It crawled out of the jogger at some point and made its way all the way to the front of the burb, lol. to MY seat. Boy am I glad that Ben didn't go to church today and stayed with sleeping abbie because I would have sat right on that sucker.

Cody asked if he could have a guinea pig for his birthday and I said yes, piggies actually like company so it's a really good thing. Cody got an early bday present and got Pip today.

Matthew's early Bday gift

Since we cant really hide him for 3 weeks. He got a guinea pig. He at first named him Sniper, but the kids talked him into calling him Bugsy. (Then it dawned on me they go Bugsy from the movie Bedtime Stories)

now they are calling him Bullet because he is so fast.

Spotlight Sunday

My Spotlight Sunday was intended for blogs, websites that I have come across that I really like. Last week you remember I spotlighted Enchanted Dandelions, because I love what she does and what she is all about. She has obviously put a lot of time and effort into making her business and bringing it to wear it is today. WELL, I am Spotlighting someone who flippin stole April's (enchanted Dandelions) pictures from her Etsy site and posted them as her OWN!!

Remember that ladybug diaper cake from my blog from last week??? Yeah, she claimed it as her own and Not Aprils. And you'll recognize the other diaper cakes as Aprils from her Etsy shop.

What little Miss thief doesn't realize is she just completely ended her little online 'career' because other blogs can make you or break you and with what she just did she will be black balled. She has other pics on her site of craftiness she claims as hers and I bet it is not. It's very creepy to think there are people like that out their and I'm sorry this happened to April for us to see it. April has filed a Notice of Intellectual Property Infringement via Facebook, so hopefully Facebook will step in too.

When God Made Peace officers....

When the Lord was creating peace officers, He was into his sixth day of overtime when an Angel appeared and said,"Lord, you're doing a lot of fiddling around on this one." And the Lord said," have you read the specs on this order? A peace officer has to be able to run five miles through alleys in the dark, scale walls, enter homes the health inspector wouldn't touch, and not wrinkle his uniform. He has to be able to sit in an undercover car all day on a stakeout, cover a homicide scene that night, canvass the neighborhood for witnesses, and testify in court the next day. He has to be in top physical condition at all times, running on black coffee and half-eaten meals. And he has to have six pairs of hands."
The Angel shook her head slowly and said,"six pairs of hands... no way."
"It's not the hands the causing me problems," said the Lord, " it's the three pairs of eyes an officer has to have." "That's on the standard model?" asked the Angel. The Lord nodded,"One pair that sees through the bulge in a pocket before he asks,"May I see what's in there, sir?" Another pair in the side of his head for his partners safety. And another pair of eyes here in front, that can look reassuringly at a bleeding victim and say,"You'll be all right ma'am,' when he knows she won't"
"Lord," said the Angel, touching his sleeve, "rest and work on this tomorrow." "I can't," said the Lord, "I already have a model that can talk a 250 pound drunk into a patrol car without incident, and feed a family of five on a civil service paycheck." The Angel circled the model of the peace officer very slowly, "Can it think?" she asked.
"You bet," said the Lord. "It can tell you the elements of a hundred crimes; recite Miranda warnings in it's sleep; detain, investigative, search and arrest a gang member on the street, in less time that it takes five learned judges to debate the legality of the stop... and still keeps its sense of humor. This officer also has phenomenal personal control. He can deal with crime scenes painted in hell, coax a confession from a child abuser, comfort a murder victim's family, and then read in the daily paper how law enforcement isn't sensitive to the rights of criminal suspects."
Finally, the Angel bent over and ran her finger across the cheek of the peace officer. "There's a leak!" she pronounced, "I told you that you were trying to put too much into this model." "That's not a leak," said the Lord, "It's a tear." "What's the tear for?" asked the Angel. "It's for bottled up emotions; for fallen comrades; for commitment to that funny piece of cloth called the American Flag; and for justice," said the Lord
"Your a genius," said the Angel.
The Lord looked somber. "I didn't put it there," He said.

my Dad got a puppy

My dad got a puppy yesterday. I think he named him Bandit. My dad is so excited he even told the breeder that he wasn't even this excited when his own kids were born. (thanks poppy) He has spent over 150$ on line at petsmart, lol and who knows how much more at the local stores. I think someone needs to throw dad a baby shower.

OshKosh B'gosh

Today I was folding clothes and when I got to a pair of Cody's jeans I was kinda bummed because the pants still fit him good, but one of the knees was ripped/worn pretty good. We bought them back in August, but has really only worn them during winter. So I ended up wondering if Oshkosh replaces jeans that wear out before your kids out grow them. (I know Sears does that, i think they are still doing that. It's with a certain brand at Sears) But my kids always outgrow before out wearing their jeans, except this time. I looked on their site and couldn't find anything so I emailed Oshkosh asking and they emailed me back :).

I thought that was super kind of them because they don't have a policy for replacing clothing, but they are going to anyway. There are only a couple of clothing brands you can not go wrong with and Oshkosh b'gosh is one of them. (Carter's bought OshKosh, Carter's is also a great brand)

and thankfully no one else was there. This is obviously not their sport. Matthew took all his gear off except his helmet and we couldn't find one of K's knee pads. We have learned for our kids that skateboarding at the park is a Fall, Winter, and Spring sport, not Summer. They did have 'fun' and they learned about having quick reflexes.

Irish Brown Bread

The other day I finally made this and I was really good so I made it again tonight.

The recipe is over on my recipe blog, but here is a pic of what is in it.
butter milk, wheat flour, all purpose flour, wheat germ, quick oats, honey, baking soda, salt

Put all the dry ingredients in a bowl and mix.
All the wet in a bowl and mix

When you put the honey down your 2y/o licks it.

Mix the wet and dry together

have a bunch of kids throw flour on the counter and shape your dough

bake at 425 for 15 minutes, then at 400 for 15 minutes.
My first one came out perfect, this one cracked. Still tasted good.

Put some butter and honey on it and your good to go. This is Kaitlen's piece and she didn't want any butter.

Spotlight Sunday- Enchanted Dandelions

Sorry i missed SS last week. Tina almost had a conniption fit ;) For previous SS go here.

This week I want to introduce you to Enchanted Dandelions. She has her Blog and her Etsy shop and she Tweets.

Well, the other day April had tweeted about how her last set of sensory sacks had sold. Later on that day it got me thinking, not only is she so proactive with her son and his sensory issues but that she makes these very helpful products available to everyone else. Plus she will make custom sacks to fit your childs sensory need.For those of us who sew, this kinda of thing is no biggie, but for those who don't sew, it's a huge deal. They now have options. I just thought it was nice of her to think of others.

Knowing about SPD is new to Ben and I. Knowing, but we've lived with it for 9 years and just didn't know that's what it was. So now it seems I'm bumping into other parents around the net and it is great.

April also makes other super cute and handy dandy items at her shop.
