Now in the pic you can totally tell i got black fabric from 2 different lots!!! but it doesn't look that noticeable in real life, just on pictures, grrrr. The red also isn't as bright as it is in the pics.

Spaghetti Contest and Apron Giveaway!!!

Contest open to the US, Canada and the UK!!!!

This contest was thought up completely by my 6 y/o daughter. She wants me to give away a Little Mama Apron. For you to win it, you have to send me a picture that has to do with spaghetti. It can be anything as long as spaghetti is involved: Kids eating spaghetti, mom making spaghetti, a plate of spaghetti you just served up. OR if you happen to have a Matthew living in your house it could even be spaghetti noodles on your tv screen not that Matthew has ever done anything like that and definitely not last week.

Here is an example of what the apron will look like. I will be shopping for the fabric on Sunday and will make it on Monday or Tues and post pics of it. I'll be looking for a summery fabric, something that makes you want to serve dinner on the back patio. hope I find it. LOL.
What to do......

1. Find a picture you already have OR take new ones. You have plenty of time.
2. Email me your picture, please add your blogger user name in the email.
3. Leave me a comment saying you emailed me a pic.
(If you'd like you can blog and link back so others can play)

What happens next....

1. I will upload everyones picture to my spaghetti contest album in photobucket as I get them. So everyone can enjoy looking at them.
2. The day after the contest ends I will set the album to private and I will sit with Kaitlen and ask her row by row to pic her two favorite, the 3rd will be deleted. This will go until SHE has picked a winner.
3. I will announce the winner on my blog.

you can submit more than one pic, I know it's hard to decide.

CONTEST ENDS MAY 31, 2009 AT 11:59 CENTRAL TIME.

I have one huge favor!! Please no vomited spaghetti pics, lol. I just know someone has one out there.

oh, pedophiles.... don't send pics of your noodle and meatballs, my daughter doesnt open my emails and she'll never see it. (and, um, I know where you live :O )

Introducing the Mapron, The Man Apron :)

When I was making an apron the other week Thomas said he wanted an apron, but only the bottom part. He also wanted a green one. So i was going through my stash of green fabric (all of bens old clothes that he doesn't wear anymore) and thought corduroy would be good. Then it hit me that the back pocket of the shorts could be the front pockets on the apron. So all I really did was cut the shorts into a rectangle and for the ties in the back i just cut off the hemmed bottom of the shorts and sewed them to the top sides and hemmed up the apron and whaa-laaa a mapron.

you can click on the pic to get a better look.

Abbie's cute little skirt

I didn't think I would finish it tonight, but it went faster than I thought. I also made her some leg warmers in case it is chilly that day.

and the leg warmers, made from knee high socks.

now to start Kaitlen's. She is actually excited, she normally doesn't like what I make her.

Sneak Peak

At Abbie's St. Patrick's day outfit. It is going to be a skirt. You'll have to use your imagination as you look at it. The clover fabric on the bottom will be ruffled and under that I am going to add a white straight white fabric that will be an inch or so longer than the ruffle. There will be buttons and ribbon and lace on the denim part. I have no idea if I am doing a shirt to match.

I think for Kaitlen I am going to do denim capri's and decorate it similar to Abbie's. We will see. That is what I had planned for Abbie and changed my mind to a skirt.

Oh- Kaitlen update. We didn't take her to the Dr because it was still yellow/monitor this morning. I let her stay home anyway. She seems fine. So maybe a little fluid behind the ear, but not infected?

Kaitlen ear update #2- I just did her ear and it showed green, no fluid. yea.

Matthews V-day pants

When I went to get the fabric for the girls dresses I didn't think Mathew would want anything. When i got in the car and announced i was making the girls dresses for Vday Matthew yelled,"Me too! Me too!" I told him ok thinking he'd forget about it. Well that was a big fat NOPE. Plus i actually think he wanted a dress. Not that that would bother me, but I'm sure others would call CPS.
I had absolutely no boy valentines day fabric so i dug through the closet and the only thing with red that i found was a long sleeve dress mens shirt. I don't ever remember seeing Ben or Thomas in it. Whoo-hoo, i have fabric for Matthew. :)
The weird thing was when i cut the two front panels off and the whole back peice off, all the peices ended up in the shapes i needed them for the pants. I just had to connect the two front peices of the shirt since thats the open button up area.

I left the buttons on for character :) They end up on the side of the pants.
It's very hard to tell but the front pocket of the shirt has naturally become the back pocket. It's on the left. Actually you should be able to click on the pic to make it larger.

He'll be wearing a navy colored shirt. i'll take more pics tomorrow.

I had a blog that i was using to post non kid pics, but only had 5-6 post on it in the last 2 or so years. I decided to change it to a sewing blog :). I'll be adding everything I've made to it as i remember what all I've made :)
So Just Clix is now Sewing for the Princesses and the prince.

Valentine's Day Dress

Here are their dresses. Simple and opposite.
Kaitlen's dress is not that bright of red. That is just how it showed up with the flash. Her red is the same color of red in Abbie's dress.

Mommy Guilt

I haz it.....

I have gone back and forth on doing Valentine's dresses for the girls. yes, something easy. yes, something super cute. yes, something different.. then to no, wal-mart has outfits for 8$ and call it done. to but I should make it not buy it. Aye, Aye, Aye.... I'm sure I'll cave. Will the girls care if i don't do it?? NOOOOOOO will I?? Yes!!

If i do make them dresses I am thinking of making them the same, but opposite.

Easter Dresses

Im not going with the whole traditional Easter dress. I want to make it a dress they can wear anytime not something that screams Easter.Instead of doing the skirt part low on the dress like for Christmas I'm going to do it high, like under the breast line and it'll stop just above the knee. Stores are already switching over to Spring/Summer clothes so walmart didnt have any long sleeve shirts so we went to Oldnavy and they had some on clearance. I got abbies size but not kaitlens size. I got Kaitlen a 3T and I will have to add a little ruffle to the sleeve but thats ok. The shirts were originally 8.50 each and we got them for 2$ each. SWEET! It has always been very cold here on Easter so i dont expect this year to be any different.

Emily's Dress

I made Emily's dress today. I didn't have enough fabric to do the circle skirt attached to the shirt but i had enough to make her a separate skirt and shirt. I hope she likes it :)

Christmas Dresses....

I won't be making them this yr because last yrs still fit :) which is good because I spent alot on that fabric. Michael Miller fabric isn't cheap. I think from start to finish on those dresses I spent 60$ so divide that to 30$ a dress, BUT i have fabric left over because i was going to make vests for the boys but Ben couldn't remember where he put the pattern. So the boys got solid shirts. This year though I am making Lily a dress :) I can't wait. Plus instead of the present on the front of the shirt i took the ribbon off and will have there initial embroidered on it. And Ashley made the girls hair bows (like during the summer, lol) so it'll be slightly different. So if you divide the 3 dresses it'll be 20$ a dress, not bad at all!!!
