Somalia :: Operation Restore Hope

16 years ago, Tina called Moms house, Feb 6th, to tell her David had been in an accident. Mom was at work and i answered the phone. From there on I don't remember much. Tina's BIL flew back to NY to bring Tina and Brandon home to Cali. On Feb 13th my 18 y/o sister had to sign papers to have her 19 y/o husband removed from life support because he was brain dead. On Feb 15th David dies. On Feb 22nd we have his funeral. One of his friends in the military escorted David home. Davids services were at The Crystal Cathedral and performed by Dr. Robert Schuller. David was buried next to his father who died a couple years earlier. The month of February happens to be the shortest month in the calendar year, but it's the longest month for our family.

David was a sweet and funny man. He loved kids. He would play with Thomas before Brandon was born and just make Thomas giggle by barking at him. it was funny. I remember the one thing David couldn't wait to buy Brandon was striped boys socks.

This passed April the Conner family was all reunited in heaven. David's brother Greg passed away several yrs ago and then Sheila, The matriarch, unexpectedly passed away just this passed April.

Sapphire

Cody likes natural gems. He has several. We were talking and he wanted rough Sapphire gems. Since it was his birthstone. So we looked online and then i went to Ebay and got him rough sapphire's for 99¢ He doesn't know i bid on them and won. He'll be surprised. It is a total weight of 12.89 ct.

I don't have a Jan 07 folder. I had a corupt something or other and now all my photos before that are in 3 file with 3000 pics on each with no order to it SOOO i can't get the 3rd jan 07 pic so what i did was went to the 3rd pic i posted in Jan 07. My nephew William.

Here is the post that went with it.

Ben was at work and called me at 2:00pm to tell me that William had stopped breathing. I swear it was like someone hit me in the stomach. I couldnt even talk. He then said we was on his way to the hospital in an ambulance. So i pack up the kids in the car and meet Ben at the walmart parking lot to head up there. When we get to the hospital i couldnt believe how he looked. He was covered in head to toe with hives, not just normal regular hives these things looked like purple bruises in a leopard like pattern. his eyes were swollen, his feet were swollen, He looked beat up. That was the hardest thing to see my little nephew so sick.

The doctor had no idea why he was so sick, why he stopped breathing or anything. All his labs came back normal. They eventually did a spinal tap on him which came back normal. So with Ben on the phone with Lani and telling me to look up different symptoms we eventually found out what was wrong. He has a milk allergy and his body had finally said enough and went into anaphylactic shock. So now he is on soy and getting better. His little body had alot to get over. The dr. that came in on New yrs day knew exactlly what had caused it, I just wish he had been the dr on call the night before to save William from going through all the testing that he went through. Here's the little man.

Wendy gets a new home!

Today I will be driving and meeting with a lady who rescues special needs animals and she will get Wendy spayed, her shots and finding her a forever home. She does extensive home interviews with people who are interested in her special needs animals. Wendy will have a 'boyfriend' to play with named Bear. He is a rotty. I'll update pics of Wendy and Bear as I get them.

Abbies dress. To make a long story short I totally messed up on Abbies and 20 minutes before going to the party I had to add the band of red on the bottom. I had tried Lily's dress on Abbie, but i never tried Abbies on Abbie. Abs was to short, but it all worked out.

Matthews V-day pants

When I went to get the fabric for the girls dresses I didn't think Mathew would want anything. When i got in the car and announced i was making the girls dresses for Vday Matthew yelled,"Me too! Me too!" I told him ok thinking he'd forget about it. Well that was a big fat NOPE. Plus i actually think he wanted a dress. Not that that would bother me, but I'm sure others would call CPS.
I had absolutely no boy valentines day fabric so i dug through the closet and the only thing with red that i found was a long sleeve dress mens shirt. I don't ever remember seeing Ben or Thomas in it. Whoo-hoo, i have fabric for Matthew. :)
The weird thing was when i cut the two front panels off and the whole back peice off, all the peices ended up in the shapes i needed them for the pants. I just had to connect the two front peices of the shirt since thats the open button up area.

I left the buttons on for character :) They end up on the side of the pants.

It's very hard to tell but the front pocket of the shirt has naturally become the back pocket. It's on the left. Actually you should be able to click on the pic to make it larger.

He'll be wearing a navy colored shirt. i'll take more pics tomorrow.

Changed one of my blogs

I had a blog that i was using to post non kid pics, but only had 5-6 post on it in the last 2 or so years. I decided to change it to a sewing blog :). I'll be adding everything I've made to it as i remember what all I've made :)
So Just Clix is now Sewing for the Princesses and the prince.

Valentine's Day Dress

Here are their dresses. Simple and opposite.
Kaitlen's dress is not that bright of red. That is just how it showed up with the flash. Her red is the same color of red in Abbie's dress.

Sam the Koala

A koala nicknamed Bob puts his paw around fellow fire survivor Sam at the Southern Ash Wildlife Shelter in Rawson, Australia, on Wednesday.

I just love this Koala. What an amazing story. Look at those two Koalas. They are no different than humans. If two human strangers are in such a catastrophe and meet, they hold onto each other for support and comfort each other.

Kaitlen's new glasses

It took 6 weeks, not 3, for her glasses to get here. That really irritated me until she told me she could see much better out of these new ones than her old ones. WTH. The old ones were like 250$ glasses and these were 30$ It was def worth the wait. Now i'm irked her old ones were not perfect.

The kids had a blast at Lily and Brooks' party today. They had a jumping thing and a ton of kids there so it made for a lot of fun.
