Childhood cancer awareness walk

I am organizing a childhood cancer awareness walk in our area. It's called K9's love for kids because a child's and an animals love to each other are amazing. If you live in our area pack up your pooch and head on over to the walk on Sept 12th, 2009. The money raising part comes from a registration fee of 5$ for each dog (bring lots of dogs!!) Humans walk for free :) So far Arvest Bank is supplying 200 hot dogs and I am hoping to add several more sponsors to the bottom of the flier.
I have a website set up too. www.k9sloveforkids.com. You can register for the walk online or the morning of the walk at the park.

100% of all the money raised will go to juliansworld.org. I know you all know King Juju.

Christmas is not whats under your tree

From Mimi, Julian's Mama-

So did everyone get what they wanted for Christmas? Big screen TV, new camera, Ipod, new puppy, blankets, cell. phone?
Today ,I will tell you how ,today, december 25th 2007 , I got the most unexpected gift of all.
I woke up this morning to my child, my terminally ill 4 year old baby boy, talking ,smiling , wanting kisses, and best of all wanting coffee and donut holes... I swear he was meant to be a cop(no offense!)
This has to be the best Christmas ever... Who needs gifts when you have the smile of a child? A child ,whom,I truly believed just less than 24hours ago, wouldn't see Christmas...
He was a chatter box off and on all day , wanting love from his Papy and Mamie, wanting hugs from William( ok ,William, that's enough now) ...Just a wonderful day ...
And I owe it all to our Lord,to our Lord and to you all...Amazing friends who prayed for a Christmas miracle...THANK YOU !!!I will forever be gratefull...
So here is for you ...My beautiful child smiling peacefully ,feeling on his face how soft his new blankie is...Thank you Papy and Mamie...

I wanted to share a poem I wrote a year ago, before our world was completely changed...Has an even greater meaning this year...
Hope you had a wonderful day....
About Christmas...
What is it about Christmas that reminds us how much we miss someone?
what is it about Christmas that reminds us how lonely we are ?
What is it about Christmas that reminds us how selfish we can be?
What is it about Christmas that reminds us how unfriendly we can be?
Christmas should be about giving
Christmas should be about helping
Christmas should be about loving
Christmas should be about remembering
Remembering on Christmas Day that it is all about Him,
Remembering on Christmas day that it was all about us,
Remembering on Christmas day how little He was
Remembering on Christmas day how great He is
Never forget on Christmas day that someone is in our heart,
Never forget on Christmas day that we are not alone
Never forget on Christmas day to be giving
Never forget on Christmas day to open your home and your heart.
Because It was on Christmas day that God sent us His son
Because it is on Christmas day that we forget most about God
Because it is on Christmas day that we should always remember
that love , hope ,peace and trust dont only exist on Christmas day...
Mimi(12-19-2006)

Light a candle for Coleman

Please go light a candle for Coleman and let the family know your thinking of them.

Mimi has another painting up for auction on eBay. It is in Coleman and Caden's favorite colors. John Deere green and yellow. It only has 1 day left.

Here is just a little bit of what Colemans mom posted today. (CP-colemanscott)

Coleman has told me several times, “mommy? It may be a tway-zee wife, but it’s OUR wife!” (it may be a crazy life, but it’s OUR life…if you watch Jon and Kate plus Eight you know where he got that!) how true THAT is, and it cracks me up every time I hear him say it!

We got their preschool papers in the mail this week. Oh how I wish I was taking them to buy new book bags, supplies, etc. (so many parents are complaining of that, I’d GLADLY trade places with them! I wish THAT was our “tway-zee” life right now)

Who knows how it’s all going to go, but Coleman keeps insisting he’s going to SOOL! I pray he gets the chance- he’s been looking forward to school for so long, talking about how much FUN it will be. Couldn’t you just see him in the classroom? He would be what we teachers call a “monitor” making sure EVERYONE ELSE was doing exactly what they were supposed to!

Please go visit Colemans care page.

Auction ends today!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you can, go bid!!! I did bid and i was outbid on it. But thats good because it means more money for that family.
Please go read Mimis/Julians care page. She has a lot planned. huge plans and goals. it all just takes time. She wants to help these families out. Taking care of a child with cancer is expensive and every bit helps.
If anyone wants to go in together on a bid im willing to do that. We can have the painting 6 months out of the yr (if we win) I bid 80 so if you can match my bid and it doesnt go over the 160 then that would be cool

Up for auction on Ebay!!!!!!!!!

Mimi, Julians Mama painted this. It has been listed on Ebay. The money from the sale will go to a family effected by childhood cancer. She has the family already picked out.
" The Bleeding Son " was created in June 2008 as the first piece of a series called "cancer's hell " . The yellow and orange tones were Julian's favorite color reminding him of the sun . I wrote/painted the names of little cancer fighters in red and little angels in white.
Also the words "cancer sucks " will appear in each painting...
So please go bid if you can. if your unsure that you can part with money..........
dont eat out for a month... or do that garage sale you've been meaning to do to make up for the money. dont drive for a week. that'll save you tons!! ;)

Some links from Mimi

“REACH THE DAY – Conquer Childhood Cancer” Event Sunday thru Tuesday, June 22 -24, 2008“Reach the Day” seeks to impact our Members of Congress, in order to secure the critical funding to continue the research and clinical trials needed to cure childhood cancer. YOU CAN HELP!ATTEND AN EVENT Events information: www.curesearch.org/support_curesearch/raise_awareness/index.aspx?id=4450 WRITE A LETTER! Five minutes of your time can encourage your senators to pass historic legislation currently under consideration) for childhood cancer research funding. http://http//capwiz.com/curesearch/home/ SIGN THIS PETITION! www.thepetitionsite.com/1/CureChildhoodCancer Think online petitions aren't effective? * This one can make an important impression on media, when deciding whether there is enough public interest for a story on Childhood Cancers. * Your signature shows the children & their families that you care. * Your email address will not be displayed to others. When a child is murdered, it’s on the news, & the community & government(s) rise up to locate & stop the killer. But, when a child dies of cancer…?? Please sign. People need to know. Research scientists have things they can develop; but the funding is not there! Media attention, governmental funding & action is needed NOW. HELP EXPOSE THE HIDDEN REALITIES OF CHILDHOOD CANCER The following video comes with cautions about not being suitable for viewing for children or at your workplace, etc. It contains images of children who’ve gone through cancer treatments, & died: Their pain, suffering, & the appearance-altering effects of treatments on them are obvious. There are photos of their caskets, memorials & gravesites. Some people may find this disturbing or even traumatic to view (& should use their discretion). Yet, hundreds & thousands of children, parents, siblings & others see this and SO much more - right before their very eyes - in their real lives, each & every day... & THEY cannot choose to simply not hit "play". The video is entitled, “Cancer's hell – ‘Angels’."It was put together by Mimi, the mother of 4 year old Julian. "King JuJu's" greatest wish was to celebrate his 5th birthday. He didn’t make it. None of the other beautiful, wonderful, amazing, heroic children in this video did, either. CLICK HERE for "Cancer's hell - 'Angels'" Video Still, these photos only represent the tip of the iceberg of the trauma & disturbing effects of the current cancer treatments inflicted upon so many children themselves (not to mention the parents, siblings, & others), without other viable life-saving options… And, these represent only a few of their many deaths: THREE THOUSAND EACH YEAR! Since the majority of these things take place beyond the eyes of the public, most of us are able to go about our lives blissfully unaware. Pass on or repost the above… &/or Mimi’s other two “Cancer’s hell (Still fighting)” videos: “Part 2”: www.youtube.com/watch?v=sadxGVMUFew “Part 3”: www.youtube.com/watch?v=QPPrSvRFQEs Or, make, post & pass on one of your own… or the many others available on YouTube or other sites. FORWARD (&/or POST) THIS-ALL! PLEASE COPY AND EMAIL THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW....ONLY TAKES A MINUTE...

Julian

For Bens birthday i ordered him a Julian shirt and bracelet plus the rest of us bracelets. It was going to be an early gift, but it was earlier than i thought (but thats OK, Bens been known to claim the whole month of April for his birthday :) ). I had slept in and the mail ran early. Ben saw who the box was from and opened it as i was walking into the kitchen.

King Julian, all for the King!!
Mimi also sent us two bumper stickers, Julians memorial card and a picture of him!! It was an awesome surprise.
Oh, i should take a pic of the bumper sticker. It has my favorite pic in it. Not that you could choose a favorite, but if i did that would be the one.
Look at that face, look at that smile!!

If you want a Julian shirt or bracelet just email Mimi

Julians Mama posted this today

Julian,

I carried you for nine months,
Gave birth to you one day,
One of the best days ever.
You were beautiful…

You slept on my chest ,
Listening to my heart beat,
I nursed you ,
your eyes looking up at me,

I saw your first smile,
And discovered your dimples,
And when brothers were silly ,
You were full of giggles…

I rocked you at night,
Walked the floor for hours,
When you had an earache.
Singing “oh holy night” softly.

You took your first steps,
Said your first words ,
For the world to hear ,
The King had spoken !

You were our sunshine,
And always will be,
You made me smile ,
You always smiled back at me…

I rocked you for no reason,
I held you close .
Do you remember ?
Do you?

Life went on day by day,
You became a big brother,
You made William giggle,
And you laughed back at him.

You weren’t the baby anymore,
But I kept on rocking you.
And you would fall asleep on me,
I would just stay still for a little while…

Then you got sick,
A mouse did it , you ‘d say.
IV’s, Needles, surgery , port,
Words you should have never heard.

But you still wanted me to rock you.
You still wanted me to hold you
I couldn’t take cancer away, baby,
And for that I am forever sorry…

Now you are in Heaven,
Is it beautiful up there?
Do you talk to Jesus,
And do you see God?

I miss you in my arms,
I miss hearing you say “ Mama”
But tell me something Pun’kin
Who rocks babies in Heaven…

Love you lil man , more than ever…

Relay for Life

Julians Mama updated her care page and they are doing Relay For Life® and have a page honoring Julian.

I don't know if you all are still following her care page on Julian but she (his Mama, Mimi) is still posting pics of Julian, his brothers, their family, friends and life. It's sometimes hard to read about the pain she is going through. They have a beautiful family it worth the time if you haven't been there.

Fly High

I had to post this, To Julian From his Mama.
Fly high…

Fly high, lil man,
The sun and you are one.
You won’t ever be cold again,

I will always keep my eyes to the skies…
Today, the sunshine was a little warmer,
Tonight, the Milky Way a little brighter.

I feel your hand in mine and your face on my chest.
I feel you looking up at me,
Begging for a kiss.

“Just one more kiss, Mama…
One more dinosaur kiss,
Because I really like you “

Come closer baby, It is ok now,
You are done fighting ,
You are done hurting.

Give me one more smile,
One more silly face,
And one more hug…

You can go, now,you can go,
The boys will be fine,
Daddy and I will love on them for you…

My heart is shattered, baby,
But so much bigger,so full of love…
I will miss you forever…

So for now, Fly high, lil man…
With your brand new wings,
Fly high, all the way to Heaven…

Good night, sweet pea, sleep tight,
Your mama, the lil one…
