I don't agree, but I'm sure it will pass

That's all they need around here. I just saw this article for our area.

"Arkansas residents will be able to carry their handguns in holsters on their legs in public like the gunslingers of the old West if a bill filed by a Washington County lawmaker becomes law."

Sorry i'm not linking it. It talks about the town we are in :) The lawmaker they are talking about lives in our town, we know them and Code was in Boy Scouts with one of their kids. The guy who wrote the article goes to our church :)

M said his pastor alerted him about the restrictive gun laws in Arkansas, and M agreed to introduce the bill for Arkansas Carry, a lobbying group trying to get the law changed.

Tim Huett, the chairman and co-founder of Arkansas Carry... includes the following Bible verse from Luke 22:36 with a quote from Jesus Christ in the signature of his e-mail messages: "... and he who has no sword, let him sell his garment and buy one."

A X-TOWN pastor disagrees that carrying guns is a good idea or divinely inspired. The Rev. G, pastor of XChurch, believes this is contrary to the love that Jesus talks about in the Bible and the phrase "fear not," which is mentioned 365 times, he said.

"It seems silly to me. That's not where I find my security," G said. "It's hard to imagine Jesus carrying a gun."

He also sees other problems.

"That doesn't sound like a real good thing on X Street after 2 a.m. in the morning."

BINGO!!! Rev. G!! and who would be responding to "shots fired on X St"???? ....... Ben would.

People around here cant even drink responsibly (Drive drunk like nothing!) and you want them walking around with guns on their hips.

Ben doesn't even carry his gun off duty. In LA yes, here no.

I promise this will be my only political post this year :)

Spread the word to end the word

Those who don't have a child born with an intellectual disability and are maybe saying what does it have to do with me or my family??
Accidents happen all across America and sustaining a brain injury (i.e. drowning, car accident) can bring a typical family into the world of special needs. None of us are immune.

From Renee's blog- why it hurts

What we did today

Cody wants to plant a garden this year really really really bad. On Saturday he picked out seeds. Lets see if I can remember them all: carrots, tomatoes, beets, turnips, pumpkins, corn, spinach, okra, peas, sunflowers, wild flowers, watermelon, cucumbers...

We were suppose to get snow on Thursday and then that changed to freezing rain and now its just rain above freezing level. The weather is going to be tricky for a bit as we try to head into Spring. So, to stop all the questions of WHEN ARE WE GOING TO PLANT THEM. I surprised him with some soil to make starter plants. We didn't get to all of them planted. There are several packets left.

Sooooooooooo
1) I really hope they grow
2) I guess we'll be eating dinner at the edge of the table for a couple weeks.

oh, all those containers on the table were in our shed from the previous owner :) he use to plant a massive garden every year and he just left those here. There is probably that much more still in the shed.

eta- i lied. i just looked up the weather and the low for the next two days is going to be 28°

When you die..

... and move out to the backyard. The purse with the stars all over it, I get it."

Uh, Thanks Kaitlen. lmao. where does she get this from?? At least we'll be in the backyard??

ETA: and im not kidding. I had Thomas help me move a dresser in my room and he looks at a Tapestry that was my moms that my Brother had made for her in Italy and says,"when you die I get that tapestry"

WTH!!

I said, " That's great cause Kaitlen has already claimed a purse."

(after almost a year i was putting my Mom's stuff into the closet. It's been sitting on the toddler fire truck bed.)

Found them

I seriously thought they were long gone in the trash!! I turned this house upside down looking for these keys back when i lost them. So, where did i find them you ask???? In the toy room , in the corner, behind a large toy tub. I went through all the toys. I guess i should have looked behind them.

I'm a dork!! i swear.

The other day in the car I hear the song, It wont be like this for long. I text either Ben or Tina and asked if Hootie and the Blowfish went country, because this song sounds like him. Who ever it was i text said IDK. So i made it a point to remember the song and look up the singer. The singer was Darius Rucker, oh? guess its not hootie (LOL) but boy does he sound like him. (LOL) So tonight Thomas has me look up AMP for tickets to some band. I see D. Rucker is playing there too!! I would love to see him.... Then i notice this "Darius Rucker of Hootie and the Blowfish" HELLOOOO Lisa, It is the same guy!... i knew it sounded like him.

Dear Lord, May I please have my brain back? I kinda need it.

So, I thought Ben and I could go to our first concert since i was 5 months pg with Cody. ( Code is 9 remember) Nope, he has overtime then. bah. Maybe in another 10 yrs.

KA-UTE idea!

My daughters addiction

Abbie has her coffee every morning. She has since she stopped breastfeeding. We had figured it changed the flavor of my breast milk and she was getting her coffee every morning since she was born. As for the caffeine, i would say none, or next to none was in the breast milk. Just the flavor. I don't remember how we realized she needed her coffee, but we did. So every morning, in her sippy, went a little bit of coffee, some creamer, sweet n low, and some milk. She was very much a grouch before she got her coffee and then fine afterward. so my 2 y/o daughter is addicted to coffee, cafinated coffee.

Lets fast forward to the first day of Kindergarten..

Baby, did you eat all you cereal? grab your backpack? brush your teeth? don't forget to drink your coffee...

I should probably switch her to hot ovaltine.

Abbie's cute little skirt

I didn't think I would finish it tonight, but it went faster than I thought. I also made her some leg warmers in case it is chilly that day.
Front

Back

and the leg warmers, made from knee high socks.

now to start Kaitlen's. She is actually excited, she normally doesn't like what I make her.

I just have to decide if i want to do anything to the green ribbon at the 3 spots i attached it to the skirt or not and put the elastic waist in and sew up the other side.

My neighbor owes me 5$

or a new bail of hay. Last week i put a bail of hay in front of the trampoline so the kids could climb in and out without my help. Today i notice a cow in our yard when i left to take M to school. The cow was still there when i got back so i took a pic. I then realize the bail of hay is no longer a bail of hay!!!! That's why the cow is hanging out there. lol. Life in the country.

Sneak Peak

At Abbie's St. Patrick's day outfit. It is going to be a skirt. You'll have to use your imagination as you look at it. The clover fabric on the bottom will be ruffled and under that I am going to add a white straight white fabric that will be an inch or so longer than the ruffle. There will be buttons and ribbon and lace on the denim part. I have no idea if I am doing a shirt to match.

I think for Kaitlen I am going to do denim capri's and decorate it similar to Abbie's. We will see. That is what I had planned for Abbie and changed my mind to a skirt.

Oh- Kaitlen update. We didn't take her to the Dr because it was still yellow/monitor this morning. I let her stay home anyway. She seems fine. So maybe a little fluid behind the ear, but not infected?

Kaitlen ear update #2- I just did her ear and it showed green, no fluid. yea.

Ear infection

Well, that is what my ear check thingy says. Kaitlen came up to me and asked me to check if she has an ear infection in her right ear. I got the ear check out and to my surprise it showed red with a #4. Her left ear showed green with a #1. So tomorrow morning if her ear is still bothering her and it still comes up in the red we will make a Dr. appt.

(you can click on pics to make them larger)
She has been a little congested and i will take ear infection over pneumonia any day!
Now, i hope i didn't just jinx her...
