Long appt. today
I went to my Dr to follow up on the pain in the lymph node in my L axillary (links for some back history on it 1 2 3 4 ). Well, it wasn't my normal Dr. it was actually one of the Drs that was there when Abigail was born. So, today was my first time talking to him about it. Right off the bat he wants to rule out the worst and then go from there. As scary as it was. i thought finally someone is taking this seriously. so after an exam with no abnormal findings he checks the lymph nodes in my groin area and all is fine then he feels around my abdomen and hits something pretty painful on my right side. over by my hip bone but still in my abdomen. He doesn't actually feel anything, but its painful. So he's considering an ultrasound. After the exam is done he sends me off for my labs. On the order is my name, a chem panel and CBC and with the Dx of V76.49 - special screening for malignant neoplasm, unspecified site. that was really scary. So the labs were to take 30 minutes to come back. So we wait in the room and we can hear him in the other room with another patient.... well once he's done he comes in and it turns out one of the machine was down and we wont get the lab result until tomorrow. So we get ready and he comes back and said the CBC was in and was normal but he wants to see the other results tomorrow. So we call back tomorrow to find out. We are actually relieved with just the CBC coming back normal, because if I had Leukemia my white cells would be up right??? So once we have Leukemia ruled out we can move on to less life threatening things. When we left the office and asked about the U/S for the pain in my abdomen he thinks it might be tied into my lymph node thing and wants to wait until the labs come back for that too. So long term... he wants me to get a mammo so i have to wean Abigail :( or else all my breast will show on the mammo are lactating breasts, they'll be to dense. and i need my yrly pap out of the way to make sure thats clear. So tomorrow i will hopefully find out i dont have Leukemia, then wean Abbie, have pap, visit dr, get Mammo and then i dont know what, lol.............. I see the Dr in 3 months so this will all be slow going.
