Kaitlens Dress

Here is Kaitlens dress for Cody's birthday party. I just need to do her bonnet. That will probably be the last thing i do because she's only going to wear it for a very short time and if i don't get to it that'll be ok. I'm sure I'll do it but no pressure, lol. Now for abigails and Lily's dress.

Matthew, Kaitlen, Cody and Buster

This was Dec 05. That's Buster my Bulldog that I wanted so bad. That Ben got him for me for Christmas. All was good until i got PG with Abigail. There is a certain smell that Bullies give off and with my morning sickness i was in hell. So i called Tina and said you want to take buster for my pregnancy, maybe even a trial basis. Thank God she said yes and I had him on the first plane to Oregon!! I'm not kidding it was the first available flight out for him and it was 3 very long days away. Fast forward a bit. Tina fell head over heels for buster and they kept him. He is now Diesel!!! Well she didn't like him that first day, but after a couple she did, lol.

Bernie Mac Died :(

Mammo scheduled

For Aug 22nd. Fri. I went into the Dr's for several things and one of them was to get my mammo scheduled. We had to wait until after Abigail had been weaned for 3 months. Mid July was 3 months. This is that long time ongoing lymphnode/ breast pain thing. 1 (turned out i was pg with Abigail when i was trying to wean Matthew) 2 3 4 5 6 . SO we are getting the ball rolling again. That's good. This will be my first mammo and it's scheduled 3 days before my period, ouch. lol. (actually i really hope that it's clear because if it's not then that scares me because it's been going on for 2.8 yrs and that a long time) what i really want is a biopsy of some of my lymphnodes so that'll be my request after the mammo.
The Dr that i saw, it was only my second time seeing him. The first time he was nice very attentive. This time he was beyond tired. If i had to guess i'd say he'd been up for 2 days going into his 3rd day of no sleep. It was so funny because anything i had a complaint about he had an Rx to give me for it. When the Dr left the room Ben did a total skit of the Dr. It was so funny i laughed so hard I could have peed my pants. I have had hip pain since January and he did an xray and it showed i have a bone spur there. That def explains my pain. He gave me naprosyn. This was the second time we had talked about my anxiety. It started when Mom was Dx'd with cancer and got worse when she died so he brought up birth contol pills. This is the second time he's suggested it. So i said ok. (tried Paxil, eck, no fun) so now Im on Yasmin. It feels very weird to be on a BCP when your husband is snipped. BUT i'm excited about the thought of feeling better especially around period time. Plus an as needed rx for Ativan. Havn't taken any of those. On to my depression.... since Feb 02 i have not taken anything because i have either been pg or breast feeding and even though certain drugs are ok'd during bf'ing and pg, i was just never comfortable with the idea. So he gave me and Rx for that, Prozac. The Yasmin is for both the depression and anxiety too. Oh, he Dx'd me with PMS. I laughed when i saw that. You hear it all the time but never really thought of it as a diagnosis. So i walked in that Fri with no meds under my belt with the occasional Motrin and walked out with 4 rx's. Somehow that makes me feel old.
I lost the paper with all my dx's but if i remember right it was something like this. Lt hip pain, osteophyte, osteoarthritis, PMS, Anxiety, Depression. Sorry I'm not coding them for you. If i had the paper it had the codes on it. I pretty sure Sheryl and I are really the only ones into codes anyway, lol. Oh, there was a V code for the breast cancer screening too.
I will update on the Mammo as soon as I can.

So Thomas makes spaghetti for dinner tonight. it's not often i let him make dinner, but it's spaghetti. so kaitlen goes into the den with her plate of food.....

Me:go back into the kitchen

Me: take it back before you end up spilling your plate

I opened up my 1999 date book and it covers Dec 98 too. We had been trying to get pg with Cody since we got married. We were married Jan 98 so it was taking longer than we thought. Well apparently we tried on New years Eve but what i didn't know then was i was already about two days pg with Cody :) We went to Vegas for our anniversary and was already having morning sickness and blaming it on food, smoke in the casinos. Never dawned on me i was PG. I was late but big deal i was always late, lol. The day we got home from Vegas we ate at this Chinese place and i was eating orange chicken and i was just so sick and it just hit me. That i was pg. On the way home we picked up a 1$ pg test because we had spent so much on them through out the yr. We got home and Ben was working out. I took the test and it took forever, forever!!!! it was probably real close to the time limit of it wouldn't count. There were two very faint blue lines. we went out an bought 3 more AND Ben called the 800# to make sure that they weren't false positives. LOL. When i told my Dr that he laughed (the Dr i worked for, not ob/gyn)LOL, I just turned a couple pages and on jan 18th i even put that i took all the pg test and they were + :o) ........ except my smily face wasnt sideways. I don't waste time. Dr appt on the 19th and prenatal class on the 21st.

You know how Cody wants a civil war party.
I haven't got started on any of the girls dresses but I'm about to start. So i thought i really need to start figuring out the boys. So i looked up what a boys shirt would look like and of course you could order a pattern. I really didn't want to spend a bunch of money. I had called cody over to show him the shirt and he has a stripped collar shirt on and it hit me. I'll alter the shirt he has on!!!

Here is the shirts before. Dirty and all. Even missing some buttons. Poor Cody, lol

I took the collar and turned it inward and sewed over stitching that was already there

I took the bottom buttons off and not wanting to deal with button holes I put the button side on top on the button hole side to cover it up and stitched it up. The top had only 3 button so i added the other to to make it look better.Now my buttons are not functional so i added snaps to close up the shirt. The longest part was putting the snaps on and i was almost done and thought why didn't i just hot glue them on, lol. I would have been done in a few minutes.
so now his dirty stinky shirt needs to be washed and ironed. I'm going to cheat on the pants too. I'm going to get him old navy dress pants that have a flat front and add extra buttons for the suspenders. I am also going to make the suspenders. they are going to be purely for looks I'm not going to make them adjustable.

Very Scary

Ashley and I went for a walk (the kids too). We hadn't walked since my surgery. We barely get on the trail and there is a group of people coming from a grassy area and Ashley asks whats wrong. There 8 years old daughter is missing. We are at a park that is pretty big with woods, tall grasses, buildings and the main road into town. The girl had been sent to go get her siblings and never came back. Every one they knew was looking and every stranger out for a walk was looking. After about 10 minutes of us looking we realize no one has called the PD. Ashley calls and someone else had just called it in. So everyone is looking and yelling. I sent Thomas off to search off the paths. It seemed like forever but after about 30-40 minutes and no one finding her it was terrifying. By then she should have been found there was no where else to look and the realization that someone could have really taken her was overwhelming. I could not imagine being her mom. Then about 10 minutes later we ran into another person searching and she had just been found. We don't know where or what she was doing but she was found.

Prayers for Kennedy

Have i told you about Kennedy?? She is a Sincess you see. She recently had a halo put on (just had her 1 month halo anniversary) because they wanted to visually confirm her Sincessness there was a gap to large between her vertebrae and it was very dangerous to leave that way.
She has been doing so awesome even with some setbacks, not sure that i'd call them setbacks because Kennedy just keeps heading forward but there is some tough stuff shes been having to deal with with her halo. She is back in the hospital today with something pretty scary. Not sure what it is yet. Viral?? bacterial?? not sure yet. She's a sick little girl right now. so please go over and tell Kennedy how awesome she is and give Renee some support and prayer.

Wowzers Cody

You know how Cody wants to be a Dr..... A Dr that finds cures (no longer a medical examiner, but I'm still not ruling that out with him) WELL after he retires from the medical field he then wants to run for Governor of Arkansas and then President of the United States because that seems like a good retirement job. :)

not getting email notices

i have not received any email notices for comments left on here in a couple days. I was hoping it would fix itself out but nope! I'll have to look into it.

Kindergarten here she comes!!!!

Kaitlens letter for kindergarten came today!! i was kind of sad as it made it final that she was really going to school this yr. We had hoped that she would get a specific teacher and you are not aloud to request anyone. I opened up the letter and scanned it for a name and i was so relieved when she got her!! Now I'm 99.99% sure that this teacher requested Kaitlen to be in her class. She was Codys K teacher and she adored Cody and Kaitlen just loves this teacher. Kaitlen will be sooooo excited.

Cody's didn't arrive I'm guessing it's because he is in the upper elementary now. I don't know any of the teachers in upper Ele but im sure they are all great. oh wait, i know a 5th grade teacher but thats a couple yrs away for Cody.

OMgosh, Im a dork

I went and got this super cute fabric. After looking at 3 others and repeatedly asking Ben which one??? I/we decided on this one. The elegant ladies reminded me of Audry Hepburn. Oh so girly. It wasn't until i got home and was going to take a pic of it that i noticed the ladies were holding martinis and cigarettes. LOL!!!!!!!!!!! I think I'd get Mom of the yr if i sent Kaitlen to school in that!!

Coleman has told me several times, “mommy? It may be a tway-zee wife, but it’s OUR wife!” (it may be a crazy life, but it’s OUR life…if you watch Jon and Kate plus Eight you know where he got that!) how true THAT is, and it cracks me up every time I hear him say it!

We got their preschool papers in the mail this week. Oh how I wish I was taking them to buy new book bags,supplies, etc. (so many parents are complaining of that, I’d GLADLY trade places with them! I wish THAT was our “tway-zee” life right now)

Who knows how it’s all going to go, but Coleman keeps insisting he’s going to SOOL! I pray he gets the chance- he’s been looking forward to school for so long, talking about how much FUN it will be. Couldn’t you just see him in the classroom? He would be what we teachers call a “monitor” making sure EVERYONE ELSE was doing exactly what they were supposed to!

Old LASD paystub

I ran across one of Bens old LASD paycheck stubs. I was looking at it and it was about 2 weeks before we moved out her. So i compared his two week LASD check to his one month pay here. 5 years ago Ben made 1684.62 more in 2 weeks than he does a whole month here :(. that's 5 yrs ago PLUS he's a Sgt now. I won't even tell you what a 12 yr Deputy makes out in LA now. (He still talks to peeps out there) and of course a Sgt would make even more. I know, I know. Your thinking, houses, gas, food.... We bought our house out there before the crazy sky high prices. Things are a lot closer there. 5 minute walk to school, groceries etc.
Police Officers need to get paid better here!!!!! that's all i have to say. Gawllllll, i probably should have never found that paystub.
I love Ar, love my friends!!! love my house, love the kids school, love their Sunday school teachers, love my old pastor (we just got a new one and im trying to warm up to the change, really i am. He just has a totally different personality. Not as lively.) I love their school teachers ( i believe half of the school goes to our church, lol) it's just hard sometimes to see those number differences cause we sure could use that other money, lol.

Branson 08 part 7- outlet shopping

While we were on vacation we got the kids their school clothes. We got Cody's from Nautica and Oshkosh. The shirts there are the ones from walmart (all 3$, yea) he has worn his nautica shirt. It's his favorite. It's a yellow and blue long sleeve and he had wanted the matching ball cap for $14. I told him he could have the hat but he'd have to wear it every day. He said he didn't want it. Cody was on a red shoe kick and found a pair of Nike's that he loved. He's a size 6.5! Yikes.

Cody will be using his backpack from last yr and adding more Shark patches to it.

Thomas found all his stuff at Nautica, Old Navy and Levi. Levi had a great sale on tshirts. He still needs socks and boxers. Why are boxers so expensive??

Thomas will also be using last yrs backpack because it looks brand new and was a lot of money

Miss Kaitlen. They had such cute stuff at Nautica for her but it seemed if we found cute bottoms they would be out in her size in the top and vice versa. To our surprise she is a size 8. She's not fat but is so tall and a little to curvy for 5 years old. We got her some stuff at Disney and Oshkosh too. Plus the walmart shirts we got her for 3$ too. Ashley is going to make her matching bows for her clothes. She's going to be so cute. At Oshkosh Ben wanted to pick out an outfit for Kaitlen. The brown and flower one in the top back left corner is the one. It is super cute. He even got the matching headband. He spent 45$ on one outfit. When he was done he looked at me and asked how i did it. When i was getting their clothes I'd have a pile of clothes for 45$ not one little outfit.

With the exception of socks, they are all ready for school. These clothes should also still fit them when spring rolls around next yr. We got their winter clothes back at the beginning of summer when Old Navy was having that mega sale which should be going on pretty soon again.

Matthew and Abigail didn't go empty handed. They both got a new pair of Nikes and Matthew just had to have a Nautica sweatshirt. His wasn't on sale. :/

Make your own grocery bag

I was watching the news and i can't remember if it was the state of Washington or just Seattle, but they want to pass a 20¢ surcharge for each plastic bag you use at the grocery store, convenience store etc. It reminded me that a while back on Patty's blog she posted a link to a tutorial to make your own grocery bags. Soooo, i went back and found it! Here you go.

I trimmed up Abbies hair

We waited in the car while Thomas got his teeth cleaned. i completely forgot thomas had an appt and we threw everyone in the car and got there 10 minutes late :O
So i took a pic with my phone for the before and after.

I gave her more bangs since she doesnt keep anything in her hair long enough to hold it out of her face.

I cut about 1 1/2 inches off the back.

Keep Coleman in your prayers. His mom just updated and they were told that there was 7 tumors that they could see and that there are probably more that they can not see. They are working on a plan for Coleman. Coleman says NEVER GIVE UP and they won't, he won't.

Apron

I made an apron today for Ashley. Its her house warming gift. They have been in there house since Feb. It's a tad late, lol. It turned out super cute. I used my moms apron for the pattern.
