Tina finally got to Portland and I finally got to talk to Dad. He sounded good. That made me feel so much better. They are trying to figure out what is making his blood pressure and heart rate drop. He's had a CT, MRI and echo done and all seems fine. The Dr will be in later tonight, but they talked to the nurse who talked to the cardio dr who says he may be getting a pacemaker. I'll update as I know more.
Thanks for praying.

Cody's question of the day
Cody: What's the smallest amount of water?
Me: Vapor??
Cody: I mean, What's the smallest body of water?
Me: a puddle?
This kind of stuff goes on all day and night.......
Do cows lose their teeth? Maybe we should check on cowpedia........

Today
My kids are much better today so Ben and i are going to take them to the museum. Cody has informed me that we get to see a really, really, really, really old TV, you know, the kind you have to get up and CHANGE the channel.
Um Cody, they are not THAT old!!! dang! We had one growing up.
Oh, have to share part of my dream. I was dreaming there was a bird chewing on one of those beak things to keep their beak filed. In my dream someone said open your eyes and look at the bird and I actually opened my eyes and it was Matthew grinding his teeth in his sleep, LOL. I laughed and went back to sleep.

Update on the sickies
Kaitlen is MUCH much better! She is now fever free and back to normal. Cody is still down and out, but fairing it well. Last night at 9:30 pm he came into the kitchen and asked why it was so dark ( i thought, oh no, something is wrong with his eyes.) I ask him what does he mean. He says, why is it so dark outside?? LOL, the poor kid slept all day and didn't realize it and felt it should be daylight out. I told him cause it's 9:30pm, lol. He went back to bed at 10pm. Abbie does good if I keep her fever down. Matthew- Hasn't got it yet and has been NONSTOP all week long. Literally running from on end of the house to the other and he has some heavy feet on him. Going across the wood floor is loud. I try to tell him to be quiet, but it doesn't work. So that's where we are at. Cody and Kaitlen go back to school on Monday, and we didn't do a thing for Spring Break.

And the Mom-of-the-Year award goes to....
ME!!!
Cody woke up with a fever and aches this morning and by the time Ben left for work this afternoon the Motrin had kicked in and I swear as soon as Ben left he became feisty and PITB. He was constantly hitting Matthew and causing fights so I sent Cody to the wall (like Timeout) to regroup and stuff. After a bit I decide I'm going to shower and then take them outside to release some energy.See, I even emailed my friend with my plans for the afternoon, "ok, i will do that. Im gonna hop in the shower and then beat my kids, i mean take them outside to burn off energy ;)"
So, I head to warm up the shower and what do i see?? My sick kid, with the flu?? That i put in timeout/on the wall, asleep on the floor in the hall with his blanket.
Yeah, i felt bad, but dang he was being bad. He slept through when i took the others outside. Kaitlen just sat there, which was all I expected. She's still really sick. Abbie and Matthew ran like maniacs and cried when we had to go back in.
On-the-wall, That is my time out. I found the regular time out with my kids doesn't work. Facing the wall or corner still gives them to much visual stimulation and distraction SOOO they have to stand with their forehead to the wall. THEY HATE IT!! It works, lol.
So lesson learned today??? Don't send your sick bully kid to the wall- send them to bed.
Oh, I should add that Abbie and Matthew covered him in baby wipes but they are white so you can't really see them. I had moved the ones by his head. LOL.

He was thinking of an aglet...
that's what Cody said out loud, lol.
I said,"What's an AGLET???" (i'm thinking video game creature or something)
Smarty pants then says, " It's the end of a shoelace!! (duh) "
Me," yeah, i knew that"
Code,"well, then why did you ask?"
Me,"cause i was thinking of something else" LOL. I'm a loser!!!
WHO SPENDS THE TIME KNOWING WHAT THE PLASTIC THING ON THE END OF THE SHOELACE IS CALLED??!!
Don't tell me I'm the only one who didn't know. :s

A day at the Dr.
At least that's what it felt like. We left the house at 1:30 so I could get the kids a snack, stop by Bens work and head to my appt at 3. Well, Kaitlen had one more stop in mind. She threw up in the car and so I made a quick stop to Walmart to get a puke bucket and baby wipes. Thankfully she didn't throw up on herself. Just the side of her carseat, which makes sense, since i just washed it last week. I get to my appt early and before the Dr even see's me he orders a UA and pg test (abdominal pain since Dec) I told the lab tech both of those need to be negative and negative, lol. After talking to the Dr he thinks it's possible i have adhesion's from my gallbladder surgery. I go for a CT on thurs and on the 7th I see my Dr who did the surgery. He just broke his shoulder over the weekend which is why my appointment is so far out. It's 4pm now and we head to kaitlens 4:30 appt because her ear is killing her. ( I did do the Earcheck and her right ear was #5 red and her left ear was #2 yellow.) Turns out her left ear was moderatly infected and her right was severe. He said on a scale from 1-10 her ear was a 9 and thats because it wasn't ruptured. He saves the 10 for the ruptured eardrums. So she got Augmentin and numbing ear drops. I'm really hoping that this is whats been causing her fever since Saturday and no flu! :) Tomorrow should be a MUCh better day for her. So we swing by Walmart to get her RX's filled and of course it's going to be 45 minutes........ so we go meet daddy for dinner, yum. I head back to walmart and they didn't fill the numbing drops because the MD only put 3-4 drop to the ear. He didn't say how often. So instead of calling the MD they wait for me and ask if I knew what the directions were. :) im slick, sure! 3-4 drops to affected ear p.r.n. :) Im sure the Dr would agree??? lmao! I sure wasn't waiting around any longer!! 15 minutes later i was out the door! and home by 7pm.
Spring Break 2009
Matthew's Spring Break was last week and the other kids is this week. My plans were to take M to school today and us hang out with him. Abbie loves doing that and i know the others wouldn't mind. Then on tues and wed i had planned to take the kids to the pool while m was in school and then Thurs hang with M again. Well, I have a Dr. appt today and Kaitlen has the flu so matthew isn't even going to school today and certainly Kaitlen can't hang out at the school or pool. SO, Im changing our plans to hopefully go to the museum one of these days before Spring Break ends and I am also hoping Ben can schedule a time with that guy for the kids to hold a piece of the moon!!! The wind is going like crazy outside and is suppose to be bringing in a big storm.... I see lots of family movie time in our future.

A sad day in Law Enforcement
3 Sgts with the Oakland PD have been shot and killed and an officer was shot and is not expected to live.
ETA- i am updating, the 4th officer has passed away :(
updating again- The 4th officer is brain dead and they are keeping him on life support until they figure out the organ donation. Many people will live through his families decision to donate his organs.
I can not imagine what their department and families are going through.

In Remembrance . . .
The Monument
I never dreamed it would be me
The Monument
I never dreamed it would be me
My name for all eternity
Recorded here at this hallowed place
Alas, my name, no more my face.
"In the line of duty" I hear them say
"In the line of duty" I hear them say
My family now the price will pay
My folded flag stained with their tears
We only had those few short years.
The badge no longer on my chest
The badge no longer on my chest
I sleep now in eternal rest
My sword I pass to those behind
And pray they keep this thought in mind.
I never dreamed it would be me
I never dreamed it would be me
And with heavy heart and bended knee
I ask for all here from the past
Dear God, let my name be the last.

Purse Meme
I was tagged by Renee for this purse meme
1. Post a picture of the bag/purse/handbag/pocketbook {whatever you call it!} that you are carrying! Now, don't you even think about going back there to your closet and getting that cute little clutch that you carried before you had children or the last time you went out ;-) I want to see the purse that you carried today!
2. Tell us how much it cost! Oh my, I know what you are thinking - a Southern Belle neva discusses matters of money, darlin'. Well, yes, but today we are gonna break that rule and tell! Yes, tell how much it cost. We won't judge! This is for entertainment purposes only! And if there is a story that goes along with this purse, tell it!!
3. Tag some other girls. It will be fun to see what everybody else posts :-)
It's a Nine West purse from Robinsons-May back in California. Ben bought it for me. I don't remember how much it cost, but it was on sale. Right now it has milk on the front of it and one of the puppies had chewed the bottom of the adjuster strap. It's actually a PITB to find stuff in it.
Not to bad of a purse for a mommy huh? except the milk and chewed part, lol.
If you are a mommy, you are tagged!!! Let me know if you do it so i can read yours!

Tell me...
Does this go on in your house??
I'm getting the dinner plates ready (yes Tina, putting every ones food on every ones plate, lol)
It goes something like this...
Ben: Everyone be quiet and listen..... then he rips a very loud fart
Cody: (without missing a beat) Can you say it again? I didn't hear you.
everyone laughs
WTH? This is in the kitchen, at dinner time.

Look how cool
Well, It's cool to me since I have never grown a garden or anything. The sunflowers are poking through and you can see the shell of the seed. I thought that was cool. Looks like the shell is eating the plant.
Then the corn plant, IDK if the plant pushed up one of the corn seeds or if it is doing the same thing as the sunflower plant.
Cody will be very excited when he sees this tomorrow.
